In November, we opened our Tribeca studio doors to the public for the very first time, inviting guests for a special behind-the-scenes visit as part of NYC Jewelry Week x Misfits in the Wild.
The tour began in our showroom, where guests explored our full collection. Our team shared our brand story and walked guests through the stories behind each collection, from our signature Hexagon pieces to the delicate construction of our One-of-a-Kind creations. Learn more about us here.
The tour then moved into our studio—the space where ideas transform into jewelry. Our Head Jeweler, Margarita, walked guests through how each piece is made here in the studio.
Satomi answered questions about her techniques, explaining the methods and decisions behind her work, from how she approaches stone selection to the handcrafted processes that define each piece. She also shared about her journey, from starting Satomi Kawakita Jewelry 17 years ago to where it is today, the challenges along the way, and the business lessons that can only come from experience.
